The Lab

A community space, café and arts centre, enabling and facilitating a programme of arts, workshops, and events.

Who We Are

The Lab is a community centre, café and arts space enabling and facilitating a program of workshops and events run by Bow Arts. With a vibrant café and a bright multifunctional space, passionate customer service, great coffee and community is at the core of what we do. Bow Arts makes creative activity sustainable within our local communities, creating opportunities to work, learn and enjoy affordable, lifelong access to the arts. Opening Hours: Thursday – Sunday 10am – 4pm.

Artist Exhibition Launch

At The Lab we work with local artists to put on a quarterly exhibition that is open and free to the public. This is accompanied by workshops and art events in our gallery space.

With our first exhibition in October 2022, Bodyscapes by Gaby Jonna explored themes relating to bodily autonomy, interiority and trauma. This vibrant and dynamic series of works was accompanied by two live performances by the artist in the gallery space, and a movement and painting workshop.

In January 2023, The Lab brought artists Imrana Tanveer and Lisa-Marie Price together to create Expanding Horizons. Consisting of two distinct collections, Ode to Heaven and I Can Feel Your Aura, this exhibition was concerned with the ways that human behaviour impacts the natural world. Themes of urban development, foraging, consumerism and climate change were explored. This exhibition was accompanied by an artist talk and a workshop.

Keep an eye out for future art exhibitions and art workshops at The Lab.
